Teleclasses
Future Teleclasses will be announced
in the School Administrator Newsletter.
1. What is a Teleclass? A
Teleclass is a conference telephone call. You and up to
25 registrants call a regular phone number in the United
Sates at your class time and you are welcomed by the
Teleclass Leader. The Teleclass begins promptly at 2
minutes after the listed start time. A Teleclass is
similar to a grad school discussion -- some lecture, some
questions, some discussion. If this is your first time
taking a Teleclass, you may wonder if and how it works.
It just does. It's highly interactive and the 'flow'
works well. You can listen and absorb and/or engage in
the discussion. You can always ask questions of the
Teleclass Leader.
You do not need a computer in order to
be in the class. All you need is a regular phone! The
cost to call is a standard long distance charge. There
are no conferencing fees, so you would just pay your long
distance carrier whatever your rates are. Most carriers
charge $3-6 an hour for long distance, so the cost is
minimal.
2. How do I register for a
Teleclass? You can register for an Administrator
Coach Teleclass by sending an email to ClarkStephens@AdministratorCoach.com
with the Teleclass number in the subject line.
3. Can I audiotape a Teleclass I am
on? No, you may not. This is for two reasons. First
is the issue of intellectual property rights. Second is
that it is illegal to audiotape a conversation without
the participants consent and we cannot ask our customers
to consent to that. However, if you are going to miss a
session, you may have a friend, colleague, or family
member listen in silently and take notes for
you.
4. What can I do and not do with
the concepts from a class? The content and
discussions of the Teleclasses are for your own direct
use only and cannot be repackaged or shared or resold
without a licensing agreement. Intellectual property
rights are protected.
5. Please explain about the time of
the classes. Why are they given in the Eastern Time
Zone? We have callers from all over the United States
and perhaps the world. It is a Teleclass convention to
express class times in the Eastern Time Zone. It is a
simple but necessary thing to convert the Eastern Time
Zone to your locality. For instance, in the Pacific Time
Zone the class would be three hours earlier than the time
in the Eastern Time Zone.
6. What are the rules of etiquette
in Teleclasses?
- Be on time.
- Prevent background noises,
computer noises, conversations, etc. Put your phone on
mute when not speaking.
- Be polite.
- Contribute, but don't
monopolize.
7. How do I get more
information? Send an email to Clark Stephens at
ClarkStephens@AdministratorCoach.com.
