The
Stephens Family
Clark and his family have lived in Southern California for over 25
years. Clark and Kathy were married in 1977, dedicating their lives
to serving Christ in ways that are sometimes out of the ordinary.
Together they have faced adversity with a thankful heart for all the
blessings God has given them.
Clark
You can read about Clark on the "About
Clark" page so not much more is needed here.
What stirs Clark's fire is the opportunity to help people, especially
Christian school administrators. He calls it SCORES: Support,
COmmunication, REsources, and Service.
Kathy
Wife Kathy is the better half. She has maintained a wonderful, supportive
home for her husband and children. She excels in running a very comfortable
home on a minimum of money. She is great at taking care of details,
is a great cook, and is loyal and devout. Her faith never waivers
in the face of adversity and is a prayer warrior for her administrator
husband and her children. She loves to have a good time.
Kathy has a wonderful heart for young children. She has taught two
and three year old children in Sunday School for over 21 years. She
is convinced and has demonstrated that children that young can learn
many things about God and the Bible and they are worthy of special
attention instead of babysitting.
Jonathan
and Lisa
The oldest son Jonathan is an English teacher, computer teacher, and
football coach at Liberty Christian High School. A graduate of California
State University Long Beach, he loves teaching and knows it feeds
his soul. He and his new wife, Lisa (Connally), are junior high youth
directors at Central Baptist Church. He is instrumental in maintaining
the church's web site and this site as well. He purposes to attend
Talbot Theological Seminary to prepare for the ministry.
Jonathan was born in Germany during his parent's missionary work there
and was named after the Jonathan of the Bible, son of King Saul and
dear friend of King David. Read those wonderful stories in I Samuel
to see Jonathan's statements of faith, "perhaps the Lord will
work for us, for the Lord is not restrained to save by many or by
few." I Samuel 14:6, and his efforts at coaching David, I Samuel
23:16.
- Caleb
Middle
child, Caleb, was born two weeks before Clark and Kathy began attending
Central Baptist Church and Liberty Christian School in 1981. Delightfully,
funloving with firm convictions, Caleb attends Moody Bible Institute
in Chicago, IL, with the heartfelt purpose of serving God on the mission
field. An accomplished musician, Caleb also loves sports and paintballing.
Caleb was named after one of the twelve spies that Moses sent into
Canaan. Caleb returned with Joshua to report their conviction that
God would bless the vision of Israel's new home although the others
were negative and resisted them. God spoke of Caleb in Numbers 14:24,
"But my servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit
and has followed me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered
and his descendents shall take possession of it." Caleb's spirit
was one of NO FEAR as he assessed the giant obstacles and compared
them with God's will and his power. (vs7-9)
Both Jonathan and Caleb have the distinction of being selected as
"Scholar Athletes" to the National Football Foundation and
College Football Hall of Fame. They may be the only brothers who have
that distinction.
- Bethany
With
her brothers out of the home, Bethany is living it up. This deeply
spiritual young lady loves to read, excells in basketball and volleyball,
and has a wonderful testimony with her friends. She is a junior in
high school with great grades and a strong desire to travel. She is
the apple of her father's eye who would do anything for her except
what she can do for herself.
Bethany was named for the town in the Bible where Jesus went to get
away from the crowds and rest with his friends. The name, Bethany,
stands for hospitality, loyalty, nurturing, and abiding friendship.
It was a place where Jesus dwelt in harmony and strength. It's where
Martha served with loving hospitality and Mary worshipped with devotion.
And it's where Lazarus sat in his chair and told what the resurrection
meant from personal experience.
