Special Projects

  • Initiated and oversaw the initial accreditation of Liberty Christian School by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International.
  • Introduced computer skills curriculum and a computer laboratory for elementary through high school students.
  • Conducted computerized test scoring for ACSI Academic Pentathlon Plus.
  • Served as chairman of ACSI Speech Meet for over eight years, organizing and directing 15 schools and 450 students in events.
  • Secured foundation grants which financed the expansion and automation of the elementary through high school library encompassing over 8000 volumes.

Administration

  • Established two Christian schools for children of American families in cross-cultural environments, including defining curriculum; purchasing necessary textbooks, materials and equipment; scheduling daily activities; preparing lesson plans and conducting courses.
  • Initiated development program that produced a master plan for property development, strategic planning components for school improvement, and included top quality annual fund banquets.
  • Oversaw and supervised an office staff of 4 and faculty of 26 including securing personnel, developing contracts, answering questions related to salaries and benefits, recommending continuance, dismissal or discipline of staff. Also, defined and implemented two vice-principal positions to provide support in the areas of curriculum development, classroom supervision, building expansion, and student discipline.
  • Evaluated, selected, installed computer software, and trained employees resulting in automated and streamlined bookkeeping practices.
  • Developed and managed yearly budget of $1.5 million maintaining records consistent with accepted accounting practices.
  • Provided leadership in the definition and accomplishment of the school's spiritual mission through one-on-one interaction and private and public meetings with parents, students and staff.
  • Negotiated lease with local public school district for use of vacant school property resulting in dual campus configuration.
  • Coordinated work with city planning and building departments resulting in placement of portable classrooms on main school campus.
  • Established and implemented procedures for admission of students making final decision on admission or non-admission of students based on accepted criteria.
  • Developed and disseminated school policy manuals for staff, parents, and students.
  • Directed and assisted vice principals in supervision of staff, improvement of instruction, selection of curriculum, and administration of discipline procedures.
